Senior Photo Art Director

The Senior Photo Art Director will produce and conceptualize all  visual and stylistic solutions to all photo art dirction that is aligned to Crate and Barrel's brand positioning. 

What you'll do...

  • Collaborate with Senior leadership and internal partners to develop and produce new visual photo/video assets for marketing photography and other mediums including digital, video, print, social, etc.
  • Collaborates and lead the Photo Art Direction team on marketing photography, as well as ecomm photography when needed.
  • Mentor/assist fellow Photo Art Directors on conceptual thinking, development, presentation and execution.
  • Inspire, support and lead photo art direction teams through multiple on-going projects (ie. seasonal creative pitchbacks, brand initiatives) while performing on-set direction.
  • Pull swipes and inspirations that are aligned with Brand positioning. 
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal business partners across all channels and acts as the direct point of contact of the Photo Studio/Creative department.
  • Represent the company as the Brand ambassador while on photo shoots.
  • Ensure budgets, deadlines, etc. are complete, accurate and followed, and assists in developing and maintaining schedules for projects.
  • Attend and/or lead meetings to present creative and/or understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of a project.
  • Collaborate with Image Coordinator and Production teams to ensure asset management needs are met.
  • Create and maintain consistent, high level visuals, standards and specifications.
  • Consistently achieve desired outcomes on time and with a minimum of avoidable errors and issues.
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with all company associates and business contacts. Makes complex issues easy to understand.
  • Current and informed on best practices and latest industry trends, digital platforms, medias, techniques and materials.
  • Maintain positive attitude and infection personality that drives and energizes team. 

What you'll bring...

  • Must provide Portfolio link (including password) on resume or PDF sample
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant photo art direction experience; digital and video experience is a must
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, photography or related areas
  • Demonstrated ability in understanding set design and visual composition, scale and proportion to create a well-designed and balanced room
  • Consistently provide innovative conception of photography styling, set backgrounds, and surfaces
  • Acute ability in translating Brand positioning visuals into engaging visual solutions that enhance and elevate the brand
  • Understanding of color management policies and best practices
  • Ability to think outside the box when conceptualizing shoot ideas and angles
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant software including Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Google Slides, Slack and other internal tools
  • Sketching skills and proficiency in Apple Pencil and Sketchbook on iPad
  • A strong collaborator who promotes a sense of teamwork 
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment, adaptable to change and can balance multiple activities at once while making appropriate progress
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and correctly prioritize multiple projects for themselves and others
