Associate Buyer, Non-Merchandise

Procurement of materials, supplies and services needed by our retail, supply chain and office locations with a concentration on paper based products. Regular assessment of supplier competitiveness, quality and service levels to ensure our minimum standards are maintained. 

What you'll do...

  • Non-merchandise RFQ administration and evaluation of KPI metrics, including supplier; economics, product/service quality and supplier reliability.
  • Support our CSR efforts by ensuring procurement of materials that meet our sustainability goals.  
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers for procurement activity. 
  • Negotiate agreements along with the Purchasing Manager and implement services working with cross-functional stakeholders. 
  • Participate in the strategy and selection process by presenting options and providing expert recommendations to appropriate team members and/or senior management.
  • Consult with the Legal Department on all contracts. 
  • Maintain the bid schedule for all sourcing programs.
  • Meet with suppliers and internal customers for quarterly business reviews; manage and improve relationship KPI’s.
  • Review product or service issues with internal customers, vendors and others to determine root cause and take corrective as well as preventive action. 
  • Support Retail and Supply Chain with maintaining inventory levels and process, work with cross functional teams to analyze and report results.
  • Manage all aspects of performance and development of direct reports to encourage professional growth.

What you'll bring...

  • 3+ years previous purchasing experience
  • Operational buying of non-merchandise and inventory management.
  • Detail oriented, organized and ability to multitask
    Strong financial acumen and experience with negotiations.
    Microsoft Office proficiency, including MS Access 
  • Team player with a focus on collaboration
  • Oracle Peoplesoft experience a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
