Senior Developer (iSeries / IBMi)

Location: Northbrook, Illinois

The Senior Developer will maximize company sales growth and profitability by performing software application programming across multiple technologies to construct software applications that perform according to business requirements and priorities for merchandising operational systems, both package and custom. The Senior Software Developer will work closely with technology and business associates to create new innovative technology solutions and show a readiness to guide team members.

This position is fully Remote.

A day in the life as a Senior Developer…

  • Creating and modifying documentation for programs, process flow, test scripts or other software application needs
  • Creating and reviewing code
  • Planning, developing and executing tests 
  • Maintaining knowledge of current merchandising operational industry trends to accelerate innovation in solutions

What you’ll bring to the table…

  • Experience with I-Series development, RPG, ILE, SQLRPGLE, CL, SQL, and SDA
  • Ability to understand the interfaces to and from customer facing order entry systems
  • 5 years of software application development experience, including 1-2 years developer experience

We’d love to hear from you if you have… 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or comparable work experience; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in .Net, Web services,Application Integration/ Modernization area on AS/400
  • Experience working in Retail merchandising systems or supply chain process knowledge is preferred.
