Senior Director, Digital Creative

The Senior Director, Digital Creative is responsible for driving brand design and creative direction for all digital brand marketing experiences. This role will have significant influence on future business, organizational/leadership and strategic initiatives, and is focused on driving business growth, innovation and digital intelligence within the organization.

  • Deliver imaginative, conceptual thinking to advance and elevate the brand and ensure all digital touch points to meet brand expectations.
  • Ability to develop original and exciting conceptual ideas and bring visionary ideas to the table.
  • Drive engagement, excitement and innovation in our digital brand creative.
  • Deliver our seasonal content approach through close partnership with merchandising, marketing and eCommerce
  • Develop and execute digital programs to drive strategic customer acquisition and engagement through our brand design and organic digital channels such as SEM, SEO, Display, Mobile, Video, and Content marketing.
  • Ability to develop original and exciting conceptual ideas and bring visionary ideas to the table.
  • Routinely promote new ideas, methods, technologies to further the growth of our business, brand and team.
  • Provide advice and value-added ideas to senior management, partners and team based on deep subject matter expertise.
  • Provide leadership and functional expertise to help evolve Crate’s digital acquisition footprint and execution of core digital marketing strategies, while delivering a seamless customer shopping experience.
  • Work with the digital team to optimize digital strategies and ensure all programs are set-up for accurate measurement and success.
  • Help develop and manage strategies to create innovative opportunities for new and evolving media channels that can be measured and scaled based on success.
  • Define and drive design direction for eCommerce brand pages and digital marketing elements.
  • Create opportunities for continuous improvement & growth by assessing industry and team practices and providing fresh alternatives to the status quo.
  • Ensure accountability for achieving goals/objectives, takes decisive action and addresses risk/uncertainty to achieve success.
  • Drives digital creative fluency throughout team.
  • Lead multiple art directors and teams to drive innovative thinking and support.

Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 15+ years of digital creative experience; traditional creative agency and design experience a plus
  • 8+ years working large scale eCommerce web/mobiles sites
  • 7+ years of experience in a creative leadership role
  • Strong UX and front-end development knowledge
  • Expert knowledge of interaction design, SEO, experience design, digital marketing, and content creation
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe CS, image compressions, animation programs, video, and HTML5
  • Extensive knowledge of eCommerce and digital technologies, key trends and to remain current on trends and cultural mindsets
  • Exceptional visual/graphic design skills: typography, composition, layout, photography
  • Strong knowledge of creating, executing and leveraging: motion, video, AR, VR, CGI and any new/emerging technologies
  • Strong user-centered design experience and driving user focused design strategies
  • Deep understanding of retail, content creation and traditional creative concept development and design
  • Deep knowledge of all aspects of eCommerce with specific experience in AB testing, customer centered design, mobile commerce and apps
  • Excellent reading, written and verbal language skills (English)
