Senior Product Manager - Order Management Systems

So we can continue to help others love how they live in moments that matter, the iconic brand is looking for a driven and passionate professional to raise the bar and join our Technology department as a Senior Product Manager - Customer Order Management System located in our Northbrook, IL corporate office. 


The Order Management Senior Product Manager is accountable for defining and executing a product roadmap for the Customer Order Management system, managing delivery within the framework of an agile development team, measuring results, and constantly iterating on improving the Customer Order Management processes and the customer buying experience. This role will be the acknowledged expert on Crate and Barrel Customer Order rules and processes, and works to discover and develop solutions that meet business goals and stakeholder needs and constraints.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and strengthen revenue and profitability through the discovery and delivery of innovative customer ordering experiences that support shopping across the entire customer journey.
  • Partner with all key stakeholders, especially eCommerce, Retail Stores, Supply Chain, Merchandising, and Marketing departments to build alignment and collaboration necessary to design and deliver best in class customer solutions that drive sales while elevating the brand and empowering store associates.
  • Execute “best in class” in Technology product management methodology, continually bringing new methodologies and techniques to improve product quality and speed to market.
  • Lead and motivate a product team to constantly improve key performance indicators and the customer experience in line with the overall vision for omnichannel shopping, in store digital products and experiences.
  • Lead a defined area or product(s) definition and delivery schedule.
  • Manage the product backlog and opportunity backlog to consistently innovate in ways that improve the business
  • Establish and conduct continual discovery cycles for the product that maximizes customer insight, industry trends and the full resources of the product team.
  • Manage vendors and partners to maximize the ROI and profitability while continually bringing innovative features to our customers.
  • Act as the liaison between the Technology Department and eCommerce, Retail Store, Supply Chain, Marketing and
  • Merchandising Departments to ensure a seamless customer experience across all channels.
  • Help define “best practice” Customer Order processes (i.e. discovery and delivery) to ensure product delivery meets quality standards, is on time and on budget. Possess a complete understanding of the performance of the product and of all customer order processing system(s) by creating, monitoring and sharing product scorecards and KPIs.
  • Work closely with management and the product team to define a compelling product, a path to market, and evangelize that vision within the team and across the company.
  • Identify, evaluate and recommend external vendors to support vision and roadmap where appropriate and manage vendor relationships including contract negotiations and renewals.
  • Prioritize all defects associated with the product and/or that are impacting customers with appropriate urgency and consideration of current backlog.

What You'll Bring: 

  • A minimum of 5 years of Retail Customer Order processing experience, including product management
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of retail Customer Order processing best practices and strategies
  • Project management skills and the ability to research and coordinate information efficiently
  • Extensive knowledge of retail Customer Order processing best practices and strategies
  • Strong understanding of systems design, programming and analytics tools
  • Possess a complete understanding of industry trends, the competition, relevant technologies and emerging issues for retail, ecommerce, omnichannel and in store digital solutions
  • Possess a deep understanding of the customer based on constant customer interaction, customer feedback, live testing and reference customers
  • Project Management Institute certification a plus
  • Ability to pivot and shift as needed
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented
  • Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Platform, Jira and Smartsheets
  • Good written and verbal language skills (English)
