Floor Manager
Location: Santa Fe Springs, CaliforniaWe at Crate and Barrel want to ensure we help our customers love how they live in the moments that matter. At our Distribution Centers, we begin to instill that feeling with every package we carefully pick, pack, and ship to our customers' homes and into our award-winning stores. As part of the team here, you'll ensure every product we sell online or in-stores is delivered on time and with quality, ensuring our customers are amazed and delighted with their selection.
The Floor Manager is responsible for managing daily operations to maximize productivity and meet daily operational goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Manages effective labor plans to ensure proper staffing levels according to budgets for overtime, full-time and temporary labor
● Ensures productivity measurement standards are met
● Identifies and resolves critical distribution issues for inbound and outbound processes
● Implements improvements for operational flows and reassigns staff as necessary
● Creates an environment that fosters open and positive team communication
● Facilitates team meetings
● Participates in the interviewing and hiring process for distribution center associates
● Responsible for ensuring staff are properly trained
● Supports all efforts and initiatives across the operation
● Performs safety observations in conjunction with job observations to coach and counsel associates on proper safety procedures
● Leads investigations for safety incidents and injuries by performing root cause analysis to remove future potential safety hazards
● Plays an active role in the participation of all safety programs and acts as a role model for all associates.
● Oversees and implements company and OSHA guidelines and programs to contribute to a safe working environment for all associates
● Serves a backup for other floor managers as necessary
● Participates in ongoing training regarding technology upgrades and new systems applicable to the position
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
● Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management System
● Computer skills, proficiency with Google applications, MS Word & Excel
● Ability to resolve problems
● Strong time management, organizational, planning skills
● Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
● Basic math skills; detail-oriented
● Ability to effectively communicate verbally and written form
● Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
● Ability to work in a fast paced environment
● Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Experience Required:
● Minimum 5 years distribution experience, 2 years supervisory experience
● Associate’s Degree in related field preferred
