Project Engineer

Location: Newton, North Carolina

Individual will be responsible for the execution of the company’s capital and supply chain strategy through the design, implementation, and maintenance of best-in-class solutions to enable world class quality and delivery to our customers across the entire network. In addition to the ownership of greenfield and brownfield solutions, you will also be responsible for supporting, upgrading, and improving existing facilities and material handling solutions across the entire supply chain. As an integral part of executing the company’s capital strategy, you will design and deliver complex, highly coordinated solutions responsible for reducing cost, improving speed, and adding capacity while minimizing facility downtime. This individual will also collaborate with peer leadership groups (e.g. Continuous Improvement, Modernization, Facilities, Operations, Finance) within the organization as part of a cohesive strategy supporting the overall company goals and achieving stakeholder buy-in, performing cost-benefit analysis, developing business case and capital justifications, and be responsible for the management of each project’s budget.

A day in the life as a Project Engineer...

  • Improve distribution center processes by applying industry leading technologies, equipment, and solutions

  • Develop and demonstrate engineering and project management skills to be effective at solving complex supply chain distribution problems

  • Execute engineering projects by implementing project scopes, plans and timelines and ensure projects are meeting financial goals

  • Assist in the management of multiple cross functional project tasks

  • Work with operations management teams to lead implementation of network changes in the operations to reach desired cost reduction as well as quality and service improvements

What you'll bring to the table...

  • Ability to manage various scope projects and use resources efficiently across functional areas within the organization

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, influencing key stakeholders, and communicating effectively

  • Flexible to support the needs of a 24/7 operation

  • Travel expectation: 20 - 25%, project travel could result in increases up to 50-60% for short periods

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in Supply Chain Engineering role

  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

  • Ability to present complex data to key stakeholders
