Allocation Analyst

Manages regional and store allocation of merchandise for specific product categories. Partners with Inventory Planner and Store Planner to allocate inventory that aligns with the company strategies or current business trends.  Accountable for instock service level KPIs at the channel and location level. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Manager, Allocation to achieve sales, margin, and turnover goals while maintaining in-stock service levels by channel and location. 
  • Analyze product flow and sales trends by region to accurately forecast future product needs.
  • Analyzes regional Distribution Center inventory levels and effectively manage and balance inventory by region and channel. 
  • Collaborate with the Inventory Planner and Manager, Allocation to identify and react to business needs to drive sales and profitability
  • Identify and escalate opportunities at the dept, class or sku level to the Inventory Planner 
  • Analyze and manage the distribution of seasonal and end of life core products to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Track and release new product based on off-managed/floor-set calendar
  • Assist in maintaining accurate ETA’s of PO’s  
  • Participate in ongoing training for self and others regarding technology upgrades and new systems or processes
  • Represent Merchandising as a stakeholder for company projects and initiatives that impact inventory management 
  • Escalate findings in allocation that impact new season set up, communicating forecasting and coding issues that will impact store inventory levels

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Aptitude for spreadsheet and planning tools
  • Understanding of the annual and seasonal buying plans, distribution needs and requirements, and goals of the Merchandising team.
  • Good communication skills; work consistency and accuracy
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience building effective relationships and communicating cross functionally
  • Ability to learn new software to support the launch of new inventory allocation or Supply Chain management systems. 

Experience Required: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Experience with excel and inventory allocation preferred


Minimum Starting Rate: $23.08 Hourly

Up to: $28.85 Hourly

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
