Marketing Manager, Kids

This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

The Marketing Manager, Kids is responsible for helping to lead the development, planning, and implementation of marketing campaigns for the Crate and Kids brand. As the Brand Manager and a primary point of contact across the Kids organization, this role requires a solid understanding of how to drive the business through marketing, a focus on customer-centric strategies, and an ability to manage the execution of complex omni-channel marketing campaigns. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Champion the Crate and Kids brand mission, vision, and promise across all channels
  • Ensure consistency of the customer experience throughout their lifespan with the brand
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure our brand message is being communicated clearly and effectively 
  • Drive traffic and profitable sales for the business through relevant marketing channels and touchpoints
  • Develop best-in-class lifecycle marketing strategies for various customer segments, balancing both acquisition and retention efforts
  • Analyze performance metrics against organizational strategies and drive actionable insights
  • Kick off the creative development process (including writing and leading content briefings) and oversee production of campaigns ensuring on-brand visual execution and seasonal relevancy for the customer
  • Collaborate with channel owners (e.g. e-commerce, digital media, email, social media) on seasonal and evergreen content planning that executes against marketing objectives
  • Partner with the merchandising and planning teams to identify key business priorities and opportunities
  • Own the brand content calendar and manage cross-functional alignment between stakeholders
  • Assist in planning the marketing budget to drive business and track progress against those plans
  • Innovate new methods to attract customers to the brand including emerging technology, non-traditional media strategies, and new techniques
  • Understand needs and trends for the kids segment in order to cultivate long-term customer relationships
  • Utilize data, both internal and external, to identify areas of improvement in order to grow market share.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years previous marketing experience (retail a plus)
  • Firm understanding and experience in a broad base of marketing vehicles such as email, digital media, and social. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build effective, cohesive omni-channel campaigns
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills at both macro and micro levels
  • Solid project management expertise and ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication skills
  • Extensive experience writing and delivering content briefs
  • Highly collaborative and flexible team player 
  • Resourceful problem solver with a drive for continual improvement



Minimum Starting Rate: $68,000.00 Annually

Up to: $90,000.00 Annually

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
