Senior Asset Protection Manager, Supply Chain

Responsible for the protection of company assets to include inventory, and employee safety within supply chain locations. They are a critical advisor fostering positive relationships with Regional Vice Presidents, DC Directors, Transportation Leaders, DC Human Resources Business Partners and site managers. They are responsible for implementing asset protection policies and procedures, conducting various physical security, operational, and financial assessments, and identifying and mitigating any risks to the operation of the supply chain. They also contribute to the development and implementation of security solutions in alignment with the overall Asset Protection Strategy. This includes responsibility for data integrity and tracking of various performance metrics across Asset Protection functions and managing the security services program (third party security officers). The Senior Asset Protection Manager role works closely with the Sr. Director of Asset Protection, the Field and Corporate Asset Protection team, and cross-functional business partners on various core AP and Enterprise strategic initiatives. The Senior Asset Protection Manager ensures that company standards are met and procedures are followed while upholding the highest level of integrity, ethics and moral standing.

A Day in the Life of a Senior Asset Protection Manager, Supply Chain...

  • Select, hire, lead, and develop a team of DC Asset Protection Leads/Supervisors. Support, coach, and hold the team accountable to execute high security standards, improve inventory processes and compliance, support investigations and collaborate with DC Leadership resulting in improved security & shrink within assigned DCs.

  • Work together with peers and cross functional business partners , spearhead the creation and  implementation of new Asset Protection programs, standards, and initiatives within the Supply Chain.

  • Build strong partnerships with supply chain and location leadership, HRBPs, and other leaders integral to the success of the Distribution (DC) and Home Delivery (HDC) Centers.

  • Collaborate with business partners to create/conduct regular site audits, and implement controls, for key areas of the business, including, but not limited to, Inventory Control, Inbound, outbound, Returns, Damages, and Destroys in order to minimize shortage risks, and maximize profitability.

  • Analyze Bills of Lading (BOLs), Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs), and related reports to identify trends pertaining to shipping accuracy, operational effectiveness and loss.

  • Review inventory adjustment exceptions to ensure compliance with company guidelines and standards and establish consistency and accuracy. 

  • Scrutinize the Damages, Destruction, RTV, and Donation processes. 

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that Asset Protection strategies are aligned with overall business objectives.

  • Conduct investigations independently, and in coordination with corporate AP partners, into incidents of inventory loss, damage, fraud, collusion and cargo theft (ORC - organized retail crime).This includes interviewing witnesses, reviewing reporting and CCTV footage, preparing detailed reports of findings and engaging with law enforcement, as applicable.  

  • Audit the Home Delivery and final mile process to ensure compliance to company standards.

  • Conduct or guide walks of DC sites including the building and trailer yard ensuring physical security standards are met.

  • Support HR Business Partners in investigating company policy violations.

  • Partner with HR, Safety and Facilities to identify and resolve unsafe conditions within and outside of the warehouse building(s).

  • Coordinate with location leadership on Corporate Emergency Response Program.

  • Respond to and lead Emergency Response Plans (ERP) as needed (nights, weekends, and holidays included) and maintain an effective liaison with local authorities.

  • Train and communicate Asset Protection  Awareness Program to distribution center associates and leadership in partnership with Corporate AP.

  • Assist in the creation of new AP reporting and provide regular readouts and follow up with a cross functional DC team.

  • Responsible for on-site contract security teams in coordination with AP Lead/Supervisor, on-site leadership and vendor management.

  • Maintain Supply Chain AP Deputy audits and manage Deputy program including selection, upskilling and regular 1:1s with individuals participating in stretch assignment. 

  • Create and participate in providing necessary Asset Protection training to leadership and all associates within each Distribution Center and HDC.

  • Travel to various Distribution Centers, HDCs, and other locations as needed to mentor and coach direct reports, build relationships, assess needs, support the implementation of best practices, and conduct training, investigations, or audits.

  • Assess DC site needs to ensure Asset Protection resources such as CCTV, Burglar Alarm, Access Control, Guard services, etc. are appropriately designed, deployed, and functioning.

  • Perform other functions as required or directed.

What you'll bring to the table: 

  • Outstanding relationship building, collaboration, and communication skills

  • Ability to quickly develop a complete understanding of applicable company systems, policies and procedures 

  • Must be able to work under pressure, calmly and diligently at all times, and especially, in stressful situations where decisions need to be made and limited information is available.  

  • Demonstrated experience and ability  to influence business partners at all levels. 

  • Ability to learn and navigate existing and future company systems and applications such as GSuite, Warehouse Management Systems,  Case Management System, Audit Management System, and Business Intelligence tools.

  • Understand training and communication resources relevant to the position

  • Adhere to safety, using the guidelines provided by Corporate Safety team as outlined in the CBH Associate Handbook 

  • Hold Wicklander and Zulawski certification and be able to demonstrate interviewing proficiency

  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight and international travel as needed.

We'd like to hear from you if you have:

  • 7-10 years relevant experience in Asset Protection, ideally in a distribution center environment; multi-unit a plus.

  • Associate Degree preferred, but relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a focus on developing talent and promoting a strong culture while managing from a distance/remotely. 

  • Extensive and demonstrated experience conducting internal and external investigations in a high volume specialty retail, distribution and home delivery environment. Successful investigation and closure of cargo theft cases is a plus.

  • Excellent communications skills, including both verbal and written language  (English); Spanish is a plus, but not required.

  • Effective partnership builder and collaborator.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills

  • Experience executing a company shrink program in a retail environment

  • Experience with various security and intelligence systems such as CCTV, Access Control, Emergency Notification and Burglar Alarms.

  • Functional understanding of various secure practices to minimize risk and ensure adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection requirements -  CTPAT.


Starting Rate: $101,900.00 - $135,000.00

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
