Senior Director, Digital Strategy + Operations

The Senior Director, Digital Strategy + Operations will drive digital strategy, sales, customer experience and operational efficiencies of CBH Digital channels and is responsible for managing best in class analytics, personalization and optimization, product discovery and customer experiences. This leader will also work closely with the Chief Digital Officer and leadership team and help shape digital commerce strategy to meet CBH strategic initiatives while ensuring effective expense and operations management to deliver profitable goals for the channel.
This is a hybrid position that requires 4-days at the Northbrook, Illinois office
A day in the life as a Senior Director, Digital Strategy + Operations…
- Drive eCommerce strategy development in partnership with Product Management and merchandising teams while understanding financial implications
- Participate in the creation of all eCommerce sales plans including detailed annual budget and rolling forecast for the eCommerce department, including sales, staffing, expenses, new projects and eCommerce administration in alignment with eCommerce team’s goals and roadmap
- Provide financial support for new investment initiatives and evaluate proposed contracts from both a financial and strategic perspective
- Lead the eCommerce Business Strategy team in maintaining world class analytics and sales planning. Develop meaningful KPIs, dashboards for the eCommerce team, Executive team and CBH organization. Provide regular, meaningful insights out of data that enables the team to take action to drive sales and adjust strategy
- Identify strategic gaps and long-term growth opportunities for the business by researching industry benchmarks, market trends and competitive landscapes
- Lead Product Discovery operational strategy, including optimizing customer experiences to drive personalization and sales across search, recommendations and browse
- Optimize SEO results, prioritizing efforts with merchandising teams
- Drive strategy and execution of key elements of the customer experience including shipping strategy and profitability, digital tools, and monogramming and personalization
- Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
- Partner with CBH Strategy and other stakeholders to support new business initiatives
- Operationalize new business opportunities through the integration of new technologies and customer facing features and services into the organization
What you’ll bring to the table…
- Complete understanding of the purpose, vision and business plan of an eCommerce Department
- Experience providing appropriate competitive analyses and benchmarking to members of the Executive team and eCommerce management team
- Experience analyzing current and past trends using financial statements and KPIs to create projections of revenue and expenses for eCommerce
- Experience partnering with Finance to oversee the development of detailed sales plans and ongoing forecasts for eCommerce channels by incorporating the sales impact of all marketing efforts and providing explanation for variances
- Create ad-hoc reporting and analysis
- Previous experience with perform research (including sizing) for potential initiatives to determine feasibility (e.g. online-only merchandise, outlet strategy, expand B2B online) as requested by senior management
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field
- Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred
- 10 years experience in eCommerce | Digital leadership roles coupled with Financial experience, including Marketing exposure
- 5 years experience managing direct reports in Business Analytics, eCommerce or Digital
- Experienced leader with sharp skills in influencing strategy and budget decisions for online business of at least $500m in sales
