Senior Systems Engineer

A day in the life as a Senior Systems Engineer...
Lead the coordination, installation, configuration, and deployment of network, compute, and/or storage infrastructure, ensuring adherence to established procedures
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and best practices for infrastructure deployment and management
Participate actively in business audits and lead evaluations of new technologies
Monitor system performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions
Adhere to and promote agile development best practices, design patterns, and coding standards within the team
Work closely with product managers and team members to deeply understand user stories, as well as author technical stories that support the delivery of valuable solutions
Develop and implement scripting and automation tools for infrastructure management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions for complex projects
Contribute to architectural discussions and decisions, influencing the technical direction of projects
Drive the creation and maintenance of high-quality documentation for developed features and solutions, promoting best practices for knowledge sharing and contributing to a well-maintained knowledge base
Drive personal and team growth by actively tracking industry trends and new technologies, and proactively engaging in learning activities to elevate technical expertise
What you'll bring to the table...
Deep expertise in system, network, and/or database administration, with a proven ability to lead the installation, configuration, and deployment of compute and storage infrastructure
Strong knowledge of server, storage, network, and/or database technologies
Strong knowledge of Fortinet technologies to design and implement secure infrastructure solutions for complex projects, including proficiency in segmenting networks for business audits and maintaining a secure, high-performance environment
Advanced scripting and automation skills to develop tools for modern infrastructure management, with adeptness at using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Proficiency with performance monitoring tools and techniques, including traffic management and the ability to identify system bottlenecks to implement load-balancing solutions that support infrastructure scalability
Strong understanding of agile methodologies and how infrastructure delivery and management, including cloud network delivery, integrate seamlessly with the software development lifecycle
Strong technical leadership and excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross-functional team members
Proven ability to mentor and guide other engineers in technical skills

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or infrastructure management
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred)
Proven experience coordinating infrastructure deployments and establishing operational standards

Starting Rate: $105,000.00 - $140,000.00
Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
