Talent & Organizational Development Manager

The Talent & Organizational Development Manager partners with HR and business leaders to develop and implement organizational solutions that grow the capability of our people, foster an engaged work environment, and increase organizational performance. This individual leads the design, development, and implementation of talent processes and programs such as career and leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, and change management initiatives. The ideal candidate will also bring a strong focus on job architecture and career pathing, ensuring clear career progression and defining the skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for success in specific roles. This role requires a strategic mindset, deep expertise in organizational design, and the ability to drive innovative solutions that align talent strategies with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Management Processes:
- Own and continuously enhance the company’s talent management processes, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and values.
- Oversee performance management initiatives, driving consistency, fairness, and a focus on outcomes.
- Develop and implement robust succession planning frameworks to identify and prepare future leaders.
- Design and execute strategic workforce planning initiatives to meet current and future business needs.
Career Development and Job Architecture:
- Conduct skill validation, profiling, and needs assessments to identify and prioritize organizational gaps.
- Build and maintain a career mapping process aligned with departmental and organizational goals.
- Maintain and refine the organization’s job hierarchy and architecture to support clarity in roles and career advancement opportunities.
- Define the skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary for success in specific roles, ensuring alignment with company competencies and strategic goals.
Leadership and Organizational Design:
- Partner closely with HR Business Partners and business leaders to develop their teams and drive organizational effectiveness.
- Provide expert guidance on organizational design, including spans of control, layers, and structure, to optimize performance and agility.
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, delivering insights and recommendations to address talent-related challenges and opportunities.
Program Development and Implementation:
- Lead and project manage organizational change initiatives, ensuring effective execution and adoption.
- Design and implement employee engagement strategies, providing insights and recommendations based on analysis of engagement data.
- Initiate coaching and mentoring programs across the organization to support development and retention.
- Develop innovative tools, resources, and programs to support talent and organizational development initiatives.
Orientation and Onboarding:
- Manage orientation and onboarding processes to integrate new associates effectively into the organization.
Measurement and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for performance and process improvement through internal diagnosis and reviews.
- Develop appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to build accountability, measure results, and optimize the impact of talent management programs.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of talent programs, using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Bring a data-driven mindset with experience in using analytics to inform talent strategies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated strategic mindset with effective consulting and influencing skills.
- Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders on business strategy, organizational design, and talent optimization.
- Service- and results-oriented, with high attention to detail, critical thinking, and a sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills to effectively influence peers and leaders.
- Proven ability to collaborate and build trust within complex organizational relationships, teams, and one-on-one.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and agility; able to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Familiarity with best practices in talent management, job architecture, and organizational design.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in talent management, organizational development, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of job hierarchy, job architecture, and career pathing principles.
- Demonstrated success in partnering with business leaders to drive talent development and organizational design.
Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Human Resources Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Learning/Training & Development or similar related field, or related work experience; Master’s degree preferred
- 5+ years of related experience, with a strong foundation of organizational development in a talent management or organizational development role with a proven track record of managing organizational development initiatives
- 3+ years project and process management experience
- Experience with Workday a plus.

Minimum Starting Rate: $85,000.00 AnnuallyUp to: $125,000.00 AnnuallyPay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.Our commitment to our associates is of the utmost importance.
