Art Director, Digital & Paid Media

Location: Northbrook, Illinois

The Art Director, Digital + Paid Media is accountable for driving the development of creative concepts based on written or verbal briefs. Collaborates with senior creative leaders and partners to produce design solutions that visually convey a particular message, idea or concept. Also mentors junior creatives. Provides on-going direction to advance the creative point of view of the brand.

This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL offices with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

A day in the life as an Art Director, Digital + Paid Media…

  • Collaborate with key partners to execute creative projects for digital channels under the direction of a Sr. Art Directo including digital media, social platforms and web banners
  • Lead and develop multiple on-going projects and timelines
  • Responsible for maintaining brand authenticity and consistency throughout all design executions for both static and motion deliverables
  • Consistently approach design projects from a user-centered perspective
  • Build strong working relationships with creative, marketing and other cross-channel partners to deliver strategic and on target creative concepts
  • Collaborate with design leads and external teams to ensure new campaigns are produced at standards that uphold/elevate the company’s brand identity
  • Attends and/or lead meetings facilitated by business area or project initiator to understand the goals and objectives throughout the stages of a project
  • Conceive, develop and present concepts and designs to leaders
  • Produce original ideas with compelling visual content (may attend photo shoots when required)
  • Assist in edits and production to ensure high quality creative from the start to finish of projects
  • Ensure budgets, deadlines, etc. are complete, accurate while followed and assists in developing and maintaining schedules for projects
  • Manage projects while working within schedule requirements and quick turn-arounds

    Support and model excellent service by exhibiting a positive attitude and enthusiasm toward the job and the company to both internal and external customers 

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

  • Must provide a link to portfolio (including password) on resume or provide PDF samples
  • 7 years of Graphic Design or relevant experience; experience in Retail industry a plus
  • 2 years experience mentoring junior designers
  • Bachelor's degree in Art and Design with an emphasis in Graphic Design, Graphic Arts, or a related area
  • Excellent skills with Adobe CC Suite, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Experience in animation and video editing experience is a must
  • Experience in illustration, photography and social content capture skills 
    Experience working with 3rd parties when executing web banners (Google, Spark, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, etc.) a plus
  • Love and mastery of typography required



Minimum Starting Rate: $68,000.00 Annually

Up to: $90,000.00 Annually

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
