Producer, Photo Studio

The Producer, Photo Studio is accountable for the organization and management of photo shoots, from creative handoff to post production. For each omnichannel shoot, the Producer acts as the central point of contact for all participating teams and guides, directs, and empowers a crew of 20+ people to produce high quality creative content in a productive and timely manner. The Producer is responsible for building and executing a project budget and calendar, overseeing all aspects of execution on a shoot, as well as coordinating the talent, staff, location, and equipment. In order to make sure the creative vision is realized through the shoot, the Producer partners with the appropriate Creative Directors (including Crate & Barrel, CB2, Crate & Kids, and Hudson Grace), Product Design and Styling, Marketing, and Art Directors (which can include Photo, CGI, and/or Video) to execute the shoot and keep it on schedule.

This is a 5 day on-site position based out of our Chicago, IL Photo Studio

​A day in the life as a Producer, Photo Studio...

  • Ability to work cross functionally and execute on the vision for multiple brands, including Crate & Barrel, CB2, Crate & Kids, and Hudson Grace as needed while juggling multiple projects at the same time

  • Accountable for building, tracking, and managing each photo shoot budget

  • Responsible for management of photo shoot staff, including full time associates, independent contractors, freelancers, and production teams

  • In collaboration with the Senior Producer establish and execute on photo shoot timelines and schedules

  • Creates a project plan that connects our internal creative team to the shoot execution team. Works as the main liaison for all creative information and feedback. Act as the liaison between internal and external photo shoot teams

  • Cultivate a pool of national and international talent to support photo shoots both in studio and on location throughout the country

  • Establish, research, and implement best in class operating standards to ensure productive and efficient shoots, both in studio and on location

  • Secure necessary insurance, permits and security needs for on location shoots.

  • Provide access to the photography studio for staff and vendors; open and close studio, as needed, including both in studio shoots and on locations shoots

  • Coordinate and facilitate the organization of photo shoot teams to manage the shoot, and execute the translation of creative direction for the shoot

  • Partner with the Director, Production to make sure the creative direction aligns with the seasonal shoot execution plan and budget

  • Photography industry production knowledge

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • 5+ years experience with Industry knowledge of photography production practices and studio operations

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus

  • Experience with and knowledge of local vendors and industry contacts, including caterers, photography equipment providers, location scouts, truck companies, art movers, prop houses, etc.

  • Knowledge of eCommerce/Marketing photography industry standards and processes.

  • Past experience with negotiation and management of crew


Starting Rate: $58,000.00 - $78,000.00

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
