Accountant

The role of the Accountant is a critical addition to the Finance/Accounting Team. The Accountant will have significant responsibilities in the monthly and annual general ledger close process and will maintain various reconciliations and reports. This role will work directly with various functional areas of the company and will have a direct impact in maintaining the financial integrity of a growing and exciting organization.
This is a hybrid position that requires 4 days in the Northbrook, IL office. This role is an Individual Contributor position
A day in the life as an Accountant…
- Performing monthly journal entries and assisting in monthly and annual general ledger closes
- Collaborating with the rest of the team to close each period timely and accurately
- Conducting various account reconciliations and analysis
- Preparing various schedules for audits, tax, or to fulfill other reporting requirements
- Managing and maintaining ad hoc reporting and special projects
- Analyzing monthly and quarterly expenses
- Providing financial reports to various departments or divisions
- Researching accounting issues and providing recommendations
- Providing reporting and analysis on various accounts

- Ability to work independently
- Flexible and adaptable to change in priorities
- Ability to read and understand technical forms and financial reports
- Organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
- Proficiency with Excel
- Strong analytical skills with ability to demonstrate data interpretation
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
- 2+ year previous accounting experience
- Public accounting experience
- PeopleSoft or Hyperion experience a plus
