Lead Quality Engineer

Location: Remote

A day in the life as a Lead Quality Engineer…

  • Responsible for all aspects of testing and Quality Engineering through the full project/sprint lifecycle (from conception through implementation)
  • Own manual & automated test script development and execution, data sourcing/data provisioning, defect analysis, and ensuring that proper test result documentation and processes are followed as per the test strategy
  • Partner with the business analysts/product managers, developers and end-users to ensure that test scripts are developed or modified to cover new functionality and/or enhancements that are introduced into the production system on an ongoing basis
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing and Operational Readiness Testing, either by providing test scenarios and/or coordinating efforts during UAT and ORT and serving as testing SME
  • Perform initial analysis of defects identified during the testing cycle and escalate issues as required to the functional support teams for resolution and ensure that the defects are closed within the required timeframe
  • Analyze defects identified in production system to ensure that the proper controls are implemented in the regression test bed to ensure that the defect does not occur in production again
  • Apply subject matter expertise to identify, develop, and implement techniques to improve product and process quality
  • Leverage automation of regression test scripts in order to reduce the amount of time and resources required to execute the regression test bed
  • Write SQL queries or appropriate assertion routines to validate software functions, if applicable
  • Execute interface testing between iSeries backend systems and cloud-based merchandising planning systems, automating various testing aspects for integration and data validation.

What you’ll bring to the table…  

  • Experience building framework and writing automated scripts using automation tools (Selenium, QTP, NightwatchJS, Codeception, Cypress,Playwright, etc.)
  • Experience with building automation frameworks and automation Test Scripts using Selenium, Java and REST assured tool
  • Experience testing one or more databases like SQL Server, NoSQL, Big Query
  • Expertise in QA processes and ability to provide direction/guidance to other QA team members
  • API testing tools & automation (Rest-Assured, SoapUI, Postman, SOAtest or CA LISA etc.) experience is required
  • Experience with BDD/TDD (Cucumber/Gherkin)
  • AS/400 experience and expertise in AS/400 hands-on testing
  • Executing existing Automation regression test suites and updating them based on change request
  • Good understanding of software QE concepts, recommended practices, and methodology that cover functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, End to End testing and UAT


We’d love to hear from you if you have…

  • Educational background in Computer Science/ Information Technology or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years in Quality Engineering & Analysis with a combination of automation skills, Blue Yonder and Order Management or Blue Yonder Planning product hands on testing experience
  • Experience working with JIRA and similar tools
  • Experience testing with AS400
  • Experience in retail systems, preferred (i.e.Marketing (Loyalty), Store Operations (Point of Sale), Merchandising, Supply Chain, Warehousing and Ecommerce systems)

Minimum Starting Rate: $92,000.00 Annually

Up to: $115,000.00 Annually

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
