Quality & Regulatory Analyst

The Quality & Regulatory Analyst is responsible for managing a product quality and compliance program for a select business area, working with internal and external partners to ensure that products that we sell meet quality, safety, and regulatory requirements in the US, Canada, and select international markets. In addition, the analyst will leverage past experience and data analysis to recommend strategic improvements to our quality and compliance program.
- This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, Il offices with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.

A day in the life as a Quality & Regulatory Compliance Analyst
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource in the assigned business area for product development, product safety, quality and compliance requirements.
- Analyze test data, vendor data and lab data to identify potential quality and safety risks across product categories.
- Conduct risk assessments to determine risk levels associated with products, processes and projects. Summarize and inform department leadership and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensures suppliers are meeting the established standards of our Safety and Compliance program and inform department leadership of supplier risk.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for product improvement based on emerging industry trends and the threats to product quality and safety.
- Communicate product testing requirements for new and existing SKUs to agents and suppliers.
- Validate that products comply with all U.S., Canadian, and International regulatory and safety requirements through the management of a robust product testing program. Monitor compliance to requirements and follow up with external partners to escalate as needed.
- Conduct Product investigations to meet compliance obligations.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders and lead the implementation of corrective action plans.
- Manage the development and rollout of new product safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Manage projects related to making our test program more efficient and holding outside stakeholders accountable for a robust safety and compliance program.
- Analyze product testing protocols and make recommendations to improve the quality and safety of the products while reducing testing costs.
- Monitor Consumer Product Safety Commission Recalls and review for applicability. Publish to the related merchandising teams and review protocols for any potentially required changes.
What you’ll bring to the table…
- Possess knowledge of United States and Canada Product Regulatory Scheme and familiarity with certain key foreign systems such as the Middle East and Europe.
- Experience in creating test plans to mitigate product risk by determining and understanding product construction, materials, their intended uses, and potential risks.
- Experience in reviewing new product categories or products to determine regulatory compliance requirements.
- Communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and succinctly in both written and verbal format to both internal and external partners.
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or research based discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years experience in a Regulatory Environment, Product Compliance, QA Engineering, Product Testing, Product Development, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with textiles/upholstery a plus
- Familiarity with Standards such as AATCC and ASTM
- PMP is a plus
