Senior Product Manager - Planning

The Sr. Product Manager is a key member of the Technology team, responsible for defining and delivering exceptional products that align with business goals and drive value for our customers. This role requires a strong understanding of product management principles, a passion for technology, and a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams. The Sr. Product Manager plays a crucial role in shaping the product strategy and roadmap for 1-3 products or product teams with medium-high complexity, driving significant business growth and user value. As a Senior Product Manager of Planning, you will support capabilities such as: sales & inventory forecasting, item buyplanning, and merchandise financial planning capabilities. Over the next few years, most of their focus will be on implementing the Blue Yonder planning platform alongside program management, organizational change management, engineering and business partners.

A day in the life of a Senior Product Manager:

  • Support and strengthen revenue and inventory optimization through the discovery and delivery of innovative applications, services, and strategic analytics that support the merch planning pipeline

  • Define priority, scope, and direction aligned to a product strategy they helped define for 1-3 products or product teams with medium-high complexity

  • Establish clear and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that track the products’ success and inform strategic decisions

  • Oversee the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and design to development, testing, and deployment, adhering to agile methodologies

  • Conduct thorough market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights gathering to inform product decisions and identify opportunities for innovation

  • Establish and conduct continual discovery cycles for products that maximize business value, industry trends, and the full resources of the product team

  • Work closely with management and product teams to define compelling products, paths to market, and evangelize that vision within teams and across the company

  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend external vendors to support vision and roadmap where appropriate and manage vendor relationships including contract negotiations and renewals

  • Conduct product discovery activities to validate product ideas and ensure alignment with customer needs

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to align on product strategy and roadmap, proactively managing dependencies

  • Execute “best in class” Technology product management methodology, continually bringing new methodologies and techniques to improve product quality and speed to market

  • Guide and influence the priority, scope, and direction of multiple products or product teams

  • Lead by example in all aspects of performance and development to encourage professional growth and associate satisfaction, fostering a supportive learning environment

What you'll bring to the table:

  • A complete understanding of the Merch Planning pipeline, inclusive of preseason and in-season planning, OTB and MF, and TD/BU reconciliation. 

  • A strong understanding of the most up-to-date vendor offerings that these processes, as well as the analytical components that drive these modern solutions

  • Extensive knowledge of Product Management best practices and strategies, and commitment to ongoing learning and development in this field

  • Proficiency in agile methodologies

  • Ability to think strategically and align product decisions with business goals

  • Strong Data Analysis skills and the ability to use data to inform product decisions

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including leadership

  • Ability to identify and solve complex problems, with a focus on finding creative solutions

  • Excellent organizational skills, and focus on details and accuracy

  • Strong drive to achieve results and deliver impactful products

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on omnichannel retail

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, technology, or similar, or equivalent work experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Jira, Confluence and Smartsheets


Starting Rate: $130,000.00 - $160,000.00

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
