Site Merchandising Manager

We’re here for it. We think you should be too. We’re looking for a driven professional with an inclusive mindset to join our team as a Site Merchandising Manager for Kitchen & Entertaining.
In this role, you will oversee the strategy execution and optimization of the end-to-end site experience for this specific category on the Crate & Barrel website and mobile app. They will work closely with Merchandising, Marketing & Analytics on in-season business optimizations as well as plan for future seasonal content needs.
This is a hybrid position that currently works 4 days per week in our corporate office. Monday-Wednesday is in the Northbrook office for the whole team and Thursday is either at in Northbrook (Crate HQ) or Chicago (CB2 HQ) depending on the employee’s home location and preference.
A day in the life as a Site Merchandising Manager…
- Drive site execution to bring the customer online shopping experience to life and meet or exceed financial goals and drive conversion
- Lead end-to-end full funnel category optimization strategy & execution in partnership with the team
- Analyze web metrics/reporting in order to identify opportunities to improve conversion within category
- Partner with Merchandise team to identify opportunities as well as increase sales & conversion within assigned category
- Refine sort order and filters on category pages to optimize for conversion
- Develop product page ‘playbook’ strategy in partnership with team, Merchandising, Copywriters & Photo Studio partners
- Execute best in class cross-sells by partnering with Product Management and external vendors, ensuring quality and coverage across category
- Ability to lead seasonal content strategy planning efforts with internal team members & cross-functional partners
- Partner effectively with project managers and other team members to properly QA and test seasonal launches (content, links, page sorts) to ensure flawless execution
- Leads execution across design and development team of all projects within assigned category
- Support ecommerce team members with execution of promotions within the category as needed
- Identify and propose new site merchandising initiatives and/or a/b testing opportunities based on current trends and competitive landscape
- Own weekly, monthly & seasonal category performance hindsights

- Exceptional communication and technical problem solving across disciplines and departments.
- Strong leadership skills - able to manage multiple projects/ teams and drive concepts from initial idea through completion
- Ability to think strategically/analytically and act tactically with strong creative and merchandising instincts
- Strong operational leadership skills and ability to drive decisions, move work forward and ensure highest quality deliverables
- Exceptional strategic and metrics-driven analytical skills at both the micro and macro levels
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills; experience presenting to and engaging with senior and executive level audiences
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of ecommerce, key trends, agile development and customer centered design techniques, AB testing, SEO and analytics
We’d love to hear from you if you have…
- 5+ years working in ecommerce or digital related field
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a leadership role on large scale ecommerce websites
- Experience with omnichannel retailers required
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 1 or more years managing fast paced, digital production teams with the highest production standards
- Experience with site analytics, common CMS and personalization tools and AB testing;
- Retail and merchandising experience is a plus.
- Proven ability to measure results and track accountabilities to ensure desired outcomes and ROI
