Manager, Home Delivery Carrier Relations

Location: Northbrook, Illinois

The Manager, Home Delivery Carrier Relations will play a critical role in our continued Supply Chain growth. With a network spanning multiple Distribution and Home Delivery Centers, we are in an exciting time of transformation. This role will continue to expand our capabilities while also providing enhanced transparency, insight, and accountability of our carriers.

  • This is a hybrid position based out of our Northbrook, IL offices and typically works in the office on 3 days each week
  • Open to this position being fully remote for the right candidate due to the travel expectations
  • This role is an Individual Contributor position


A day in the life as a Manager, Home Delivery Carrier Relations

  • Oversee, coordinate, and optimize carrier relationships, actively facilitating the addition of new partners to our core carrier base as we cultivate strategic partnerships. 
  • Collaborate in establishing key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) for our strategic core carriers, conducting thorough business reviews and developing service dashboards to monitor and enhance performance. 
  • Drive the transformation of innovative ideas into tangible projects, including crafting compelling business cases, conducting ROI analyses, devising implementation strategies, and leading successful change initiatives. 
  • Assist in the annual request for proposal (RFP) process for both new and existing carriers, contributing to the selection of carriers based on criteria such as service quality, equipment availability, safety records, geographic coverage, performance metrics, and cost considerations. 
  • Regularly analyze service and financial reports to identify trends and opportunities, communicating actionable insights to pertinent stakeholders and proposing effective solutions to address performance or service-related issues. 
  • Develop and maintain provider scorecards to evaluate and drive performance, holding strategic partners accountable for managing our business and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our customers. 

What you’ll bring to the table…  

  • Proficiency in 3rd party web-based platforms and Transportation software such as Cube Route, ITMS, AS400 etc.
  • Ability to effectively identify, develop, communicate and implement strategies and ideas across multiple business channels and audiences 
  • Anticipated travel 25-35% 

We’d love to hear from you if you have…  

  • 5-7 years Supply Chain experience 
  • 3-5 years’ experience of Transportation Operations experience 
  • Bachelor’s degree
