Senior Director, Data Science

We are seeking an inspiring and transformative Senior Director, Data Science, with 15+ years of leadership experience. This role leads the organization's advanced analytics function, shaping the long-term vision, strategy, and roadmap for data science and AI. You'll build and manage a world-class team, drive innovation, and collaborate with senior executives to deliver transformative insights that drive growth, efficiency, and competitive advantage. A day in the life as a Senior Director, Data Science...

  • Define and champion the long-term data science and AI vision, architecture, and roadmap, ensuring it aligns with and directly advances the company's overarching strategic objectives and market position

  • Lead and mentor a team of senior data scientists and AI/ML leaders, cultivating an environment of excellence, innovation, and continuous growth. Oversee strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, and organizational development to build and sustain a world-class advanced analytics team and leadership pipeline.

  • Collaborate with C-level executives and other senior leaders across the company to influence overall business strategy, identify strategic opportunities for leveraging advanced analytics and AI, and ensure tight alignment between analytics and other functions

  • Oversees the design, development, and deployment of enterprise-scale data, analytics and AI solutions, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

  • Establishes and enforces best practices for data science methodologies, model development, and data governance, ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of analytical outputs.

  • Drives innovation by identifying and evaluating emerging trends and technologies in data science, and developing strategies for their adoption and implementation within the organization.

  • Represents the organization as a thought leader in the field of advanced analytics, engaging with the external academic, industry, and vendor communities to stay at the forefront of the field.

  • Manages the advanced analytics budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently to maximize ROI.

What you'll bring to the table...

  • Exceptional leadership and organizational development skills, with a proven ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor high-performing advanced analytics teams and develop senior leaders.

  • Proven ability to define and execute a long-term strategy for advanced analytics, aligning data science initiatives with overall business objectives and driving organizational change.

  • Deep understanding of the advanced analytics and AI  landscape, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, GenAI and other cutting-edge techniques.

  • Extensive experience with big data technologies, cloud-based analytics platforms, and enterprise-scale data warehousing solutions.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to executive leadership and influence strategic decision-making.

  • Outstanding business acumen and financial literacy, with a strong understanding of enterprise strategy, operations, and competitive landscape, and experience managing significant budgets to link technical investments to business value.

  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior executives, product managers, engineers, and business leaders.

We'd love to hear from you if you have...

  • Master's or PhD (preferred) degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 15+ years of extensive and progressive experience in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or a related field with at least 7-10 years in executive leadership roles (e.g., Director, Sr. Director, VP) overseeing large and complex analytics organizations.

  • Demonstrable experience defining and executing technology strategy for a major business unit or an entire company.

  • Significant experience in organizational design, talent management, and fostering a world-class engineering culture.

  • A strong publication record is highly preferred.


Starting Rate: $220,000.00 - $270,000.00

Pay ranges will be adjusted upward as needed to comply with applicable state and local law. In addition to your salary, based on your role, associates may be eligible for other compensation including bonuses, sales incentives, and long term incentives.
