SRE/DevOps Engineer

Location: Northbrook, Illinois

The DevOps Engineer Engineer will collaborate to manage cloud-based infrastructure and develop CI/CD pipelines. They will be part of a team supporting production, monitoring, and operations for our retail websites. This individual should have a strong intellectual curiosity to anticipate problems and build tools to improve the application development process.

This role is Hybrid or Remote.

A day in the life as a DevOps Engineer…

  • Improving scaling capabilities to improve customer experience while balancing site reliability and cost
  • Writing Terraform code to automate construction and maintenance of microservice infrastructure in EKS/GKE
  • Adding build gates (regression tests, linting, security scans) to code deployment pipelines to ensure bugs are found and patched prior to release
  • Monitoring real-time application performance to identify areas for improvement and apply hotfixes as necessary to fix live bugs with minimal disturbance to operations
  • Providing access governance of production databases/tools in line with zero-trust security principles to safeguard sensitive data

What you’ll bring to the table…  

  • Expertise in at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Bash, Powershell)
  • Experience using Cloud providers (AWS or GCP)
  • Familiarity with common cybersecurity standards and best practices
  • Multitasking capability to support multiple teams developing disparate applications
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

We’d love to hear from you if you have…

  • 3+ years in a production software development/deployment environment
  • 1+ years web development experience, with at least some DevOps and SRE experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable work experience
  • Experience in Cloud providers such as AWS
